There are two types of foods in terms of ease of digestion.

Heavy foods

Heavy foods are foods that take long time to get digested in the body. These include:

  • Grains.
  • Lentils.
  • Animal foods.
  • Nuts.
  • Seeds.
  • Sprouts.
  • Cooked foods mixed with oil e.g. veggies.

Light foods

Light foods are foods that take less time to get digested in the body. These includes:

  • Fruits.
  • Vegetables (uncooked and fresh).
  • Fruit juice.
  • Vegetable juice.
  • Green leaves.
  • Steamed vegetables.
  • Fresh vegetable soup (without any oil).

Easy to DigestMore than 75%
Heavy to DigestLess than 25%

You should eat fresh fruits and fresh uncooked vegetables in form of salad.
